  1. Swim 50 metres in shirt and shorts.
  2. Tread water or float unaided for five minutes and climb out of deep water without using steps or any other assistance.
  3. Plunge dive into water of at least full reach depth and swim 100 metres in two minutes, thirty seconds or less, using two different strokes.
  4. Tread water for three minutes with one hand remaining above your head.
  5. Scull on your back, head-first then feet-first for 10 metres. Move into a tuck position and keeping your head out of the water, turn 360 degrees.
  6. Swim 10 metres, perform a somersault without touching the pool bottom and continue to swim in the same direction for a further 10 metres.
  7. Swim 800 metres using three of the following strokes: front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, butterfly, English backstroke or side stroke for a minimum distance of 200 metres per stroke. This swim to be completed in twenty-five minutes.
  8. Climb out at the deep end of the pool without assistance.
  9. Explain to the examiner the rules governing swimming for Scouts
  10. Take part in an organised swimming activity, since gaining your previous Swimmer badge.

Notes

A Scout who holds the Swimmer 1 badge qualifies automatically for requirements 1-2 of this badge.
